#3 - Density waves do not break upon the shore.
===================================================
While the waves due to the passage of a boat can reach an area of shallow water, and even overflow on the shore, the density waves can not. They remain within an area well delimited by the depth necessary for their "feeding", made of heat exchanges.
From the photo below, it can be roughly inferred where the water has not the depth, nor the quality, necessary to the manifestation of the phenomenon.
Density waves; type: protuberances.

Different ratios.
As for the common waves, there are given ratios between the water depth, and the wave height.
As for the density waves, crucial are the heat exchanges, on which they feed. The area with density waves would be limited to where the water depth is sufficient to allow enough heat exchanges.
Affected area for the chaotic water figures.
As for the chaotic water figures, it is the same. The affected area depends on the water depth, and the amount of energy exchanges it allows, which could change all the time, because of the currents.
In the example shown here, one can see areas affected by different types of water figures, from which we can also deduce the different depths.
