The paradoxical procedure as an insurance policy.
Performing the paradoxical procedure in any case is like buying an insurance policy.
The paradoxical procedure consists in keeping the seeds at a relatively high temperature, in part of the cumulative phase before sowing.

Plants resilient to stress.
In general, if the seeds complete the cumulative phase, and are sowed according to the seed viability cycle, they will give rise to plants much better resilient to various kinds of stress.
For instance, as far as the drought resitance is concerned, the relative difference of productivity, if compared with controls, will tend to be higher in particular when the rain quantity is scarce.
Indeed, a plant born from a seed subjected to the paradoxical procedure resists unusually well to drought. For instance, the plant of maize. That's because of the effect on the root system, much more developed.
Unable to forecast.
We usually are unable to forecast with certainty the completion of the cumulative processes. Much better applying the paradoxical procedure as a method, always; or, at least in years of low seed viability, when the range of variation of the declination of the Moon, with respect to Equator, exceeds +/- 26 degrees.
Productivity gain.
When the paradoxical procedure is applied, most of the times, there is also a substantial increase of productivity, once you compare with controls.
During the years of low seed viability, if you compare with the controls, the productivity gain may be in the order of 30 to 50 per cent; less than that with already favourable conditions; more if conditions are adverse.
Mini test of resistance to total drought.
It is in the case of drought that the paradoxical procedure is useful. See the example #4 at the same page 1.5.
The paradoxical procedure, carried out anyway, as an insurance policy.
So, applying the paradoxical procedure, is like buying an insurance policy. Very convenient in particular in low seed viability years, and when severe draught is forecasted.
